For all events
Important: You need to have Google Calendar open in your browser to change settings. You might be asked to let calendar.google.com show notifications.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click the Gear icon and click Settings.
- On the left, click General > Event settings.
- Under “Event settings,” you can choose to:
- Turn notifications on or off: Click Notifications, and select how you want to get them.
- Get notified only for Yes or Maybe responses: Click Automatically add invitations > Yes, but don’t send event notifications unless I have responded “Yes” or “Maybe.”
- Turn notifications on or off: Click Notifications, and select how you want to get them.
For single events
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- Click the event > Edit event.
- Next to Notifications:
- To edit your notifications, choose how you would like to be notified. Select how long in advance you’d like to get the alert. You can choose from minutes, hours, days, and weeks.Tip: you can choose to be notified by email, an alert on your desktop, or both.
- To add another type of notification, click Add notification.
- To turn off a type of notification, click Remove.
- At the top of the page, click Save.
